Education

The relationship between "Genuis and Drill" explained as paradocical is because when one first enters the world of knowledge and understandin, when most of the "why's" asked by his three year old self, are answered, the need to the beginning of knowledge drilled in his head.

For a child to begin his journey of learning, the basics need to be drilled into the soften scull. After he understands the basics, his genuis side can start shinning threw. Not only that, but also, the drillingk, and sculpting refine the young mind.

Basically the main reasoning for "genuis and drill" to be paradoxical relationship is, without one, you will not acheive at yeilding a regined genuis as a product.

The natural method described is the passing down of knowledge...but in a certain way. As the passage says, childredn learn from those who are eager to teach, those who enjoy what they teach. A mother's loving care and knowledgable stories say with a child rather than a child who is yelled at and pounded into understanding the story being taught.

The knowledge being taugh will be in the child's mind longer and better by a person with expeirence for the subject.

Breakfast At Tiffany's....Though We're Not Eating Jewelry

Jewelry, oh jewelry, oh how us women adore thee, how stunning you shine, and beautifully you bling. The rich can easily have you, the poor wish for your gleam. Jewelry, oh jewelry, you are gorgeous sitting there under the thick glass counter, having me drool over your classy self. Tiffany, oh Tiffany, your jewelry is to die for...no really, it is!

As you could tell by the title of the blog post, Tiffany is well-known. As used in titles of movies, and mentioned many times in  movies, when a man is going to buy his soon to be brides ring. Usually in the movies, the rings turn out to be ..BANG...BLING...rings. Ethos is perfect for this section because of the credibility of Tiffany & Co. For many of years Tiffany has been building up their empire by showing customers that Tiffany is well worth the money being paid towards their merchandice. For the long lasting shine, and beautiful quality. For some, having something from Tiffany's, is a dream come true. Having once been told a story of a little girl wishing to be bought a piece of jewelry someday when she grew up, this definitely shows whoever Tiffany is paying to advertice their merchandice is doing a fantastic job.

One might not think a delicate white ribbon wrapping itself around a little "Tiffany Blue" coloured box could mean something so special to dozens, if not thousands of people. By showing the pretty small box in the hand of a slender brunette, it signifies who the manufacturer is. In the ad, you look upon a couple on a balcony in upper class clothes. Having viewers see this, they may subconsciously imagine the elite walking about their mansion in their satin dresses, suits pressed and clean. The women with diamond earrings dangling from their ears, hands and wrists dripping with silver ice. The men would occasionally look at their pocket watches, wondering if dinner would soon start. The children knowingly pass snottish looks towards each other. Though this image may be right or just a ball of fluff, it just shows some of the possible thoughts connected to the ad shown to advertise Tiffany & Co.

Ethos, a word associated with emotion. The blistering feeling of emotion is obviously dripping from the advertisement shown. The passion, desire, and love shines through almost as much the concealed piece of jewelry sitting in the pretty box. With the male model's chin resting on the female model's back, and his forehead leaning against her head, it's a picturesque view. His sweet strong arms wrap themselves around her tiny frame with such delicacy, it could make a heart melt. It is almost as if, they plan to stay together forever. So much can be said by an advertisement, and so much can be meant by the way the models stand. Tiffany & Co. probably intend all of this to come across so the viewers would feel as if they were to buy the product, they could have that same situation with a loved one.

Jewelry, oh jewelry, oh how women look upon you with desire. Oh, how we look upon you with joy. Oh, how we look upon you memories. Tiffany, oh Tiffany, thou have given us jewelry we so wish for.

Sense: Story

One of the six senses described by Daniel H. Pink was “Story”, and this is what I decided to do the experiment on. Knowing how I write, I knew that writing a short story wouldn't be hard, but then another side to my writing is that I like to keep on writing, especially creative stories. So, for a few minutes, I had a little difficulty making the story short and to the point, but then also having all the elements together to make the mini-saga work. In the end, I got it all done, and here is the mini-saga I wrote:

Lady Bug Named, June

One day a lady bug named, June was flying about with the wind moving her tiny body in the sky. Enjoying herself tremendously, June did not notice the big spider web in her path. Sadly, June smacks right into the web and is eaten by the evil spider named, Meanie.

A Soldier Can

A soldier standing tall and strong
Can come tumbling down
Down, down, down
Down, past the green grass
And the dirt below

A soldier standing with courage and pride
Can fight till the death
But will never be forgotten
Never forgotten
Because, he didn't fight only for himself

A soldier standing with love and care
Can hold a child newly born
Cooing, cooing, cooing
Cooing to the babe he calls his own
His own babe

A soldier standing with glee and enthusiasm
Can clasp tight to the soft hands in his grasp
Never letting them go
Never letting go
Because, she is his other half

A soldier standing with confidence and exuberance
Can raise his right hand swearing himself to his commander
Swearing, swearing, swearing
Swearing he wouldn't let his country down
Won't let his country down

A soldier standing with gay and happiness
Can kiss his mother good night
Saying he'll never forget her
Never forget her, ever
Never forgotten

A soldier standing tall and strong
Can come tumbling down
Down, down, down
Down, past the green grass
And the dirt below

Red Roses

Red roses grow hither and everywhere
The red becomes richer with time
Blossoming into something deeper
Red roses grow richer with time everywhere

With red roses, everything seems alright
Kisses, oh, sweet kisses
Come from a red rose
Red roses grow hither and everywhere

A red rose can take away pain
Makes hard things easier
Gives strength to the weak
Red roses grow richer with time everywhere

Red roses rarely wither and die
They are given the utmost care
Giving one to everyone would make the world a better place
Red roses grow hither and everywhere

"Harlem" Inspired Poem

What happens to a lost love?

Do they forget you existed
like a footprint in the sand?
Or show up unexpectedly -
But then run?
Do they cry for you?
Or go on, not looking back -
like dropping a penny?

Maybe they think of you
like one's first kiss.

Or do they wish you dead?

Character Analysis of Antigone in Sophecles’ “Antigone.”

Women nowadays are considered remarkable, courageous, and amazing if they are determined to stand up for a good cause. For some, taking the stand will help them, others, consequences being harsh and painful, will follow. Antigone, sister of the honoured Eteocles and dishonoured Polynices, stands up to the ruler Creon by burying her bother Polynices. By doing so, showing how determined she is and the terrible consequences of her actions.
My thesis contains two concepts, determination and consequences of actions. Consequences of actions can be shown by the example of the separation of the United States during the Civil War. Thousands of deaths were the consequences of the war and unpleasant thoughts towards the opposite side. An example of determinations is when Abraham Lincoln tried his best to join the Confederate States of America back with the Republic (The Union). Also, when Lincoln tried – and succeeded – to give slaves their freedom.
When the Vikings traveled all about the continents, it took determination to endure the harsh, cold weather changes. Also, if a student wants to make a B or an A on a semester exam, they will study extremely hard and will be determined to make that a grade. Consequences are given when you do something outrageously – or just simply – stupid, something you wish you could take back or do over again, but can’t. So, all you can do is accept what you did, take the consequences as best you can and keep trudging onward.
Sophlces, known for writing tragedies and romances, as well as, plays that were enjoyed during his time. Even after his death, the plays were acted out and liked. They have been passes down decades and decades and will keep doing so.
Antigone sticks to her guns – so to speak – throughout the entire play. She buries her brother against Creon’s (the ruler) orders. In honour of the gods wishes and motivation of love, she was willing to take whatever would happen to her:
‘…let me and my foolish plans suffer this terrible thing, for I shall succumb to nothing so awful as a shameful death.’ (‘Antigone’, pg 17)
Antigone, willingly defied Creon, knowing she would most likely die. When she was found dead, (not by any other, but her own hand) she was mourned by Heamon, her betrothed. With the love Heamon possessed for her, he tried to gain revenge by killing his father, Creon. Sadly, the attempt failed, so by the despair and love Heamon had for Antigone, he killed himself. As a chain reaction, so did his mother after finding out her son had committed suicide, thus leaving Creon to his anguish and hopelessness.
In a world where a character trait such as being determined is admired, it is fascinating to see the consequences of those actions. Our lives today would not be the same if there were not determined people, nor any consequences of actions. The play of ‘Antigone’ is a tremendous example of both concepts mentioned above. The question is, are you determine in your life enough to accept whatever the consequences of your actions?

I Cry, Call, Shout Out

I cry out for the forgotten child
One who died at age nine

I call out for the forsaken wife
She is beaten every day

I shout out for the father
Who lost his family to death

I cry out for the crying daughter
One who wants her parents to care

I call out for the orphan
Who never knew the feeling of love

I shout out for this country
It has lost it's gleam

I cry out for the nations
It can never be restored to it's former glory

....

I have fallen,
Fallen into the cracks

I have been broken,
Broken into a million pieces

I have been bruised,
Bruised, all blue and purple

What can break my fall?
Keep me from falling further

What will piece me back together?
So I'll end up like brand new

What will make the bruises go away?
Make my skin smooth and clean again

Reason When A Child Cries

What is the reason when a child cries?
Why do his tears fall so?
Who's child could this be?

Surely his parents wouldn't leave him so
He must have wondered off on his own
His mother must be worried
His father searching
Surely his parents wouldn't leave him so

What is the reason when a child cries?
Why do her tears fall so?
Who are her friends, to let her feel this way?

Surely she knows there is someone to love her
She must know she is beautiful
her friends must tell her how much she means
Surely she knows there is someone to love her

What is the reason when a child cries?
Why do their tears fall so?
Someday they will smile and laugh
Surely they will

Point of Music

What is the point of music?
It can soothe the heart, soul, and emotions
It can bring life to people who have none.
Love can be found and started
Hate can be expressed.
A lonely child can find his parents
A girl might not kill herself, because she found a way to let her emotions go
A father may hear a song of a girl beaten and lost, and stop hurting his family
Shame can be broken
Respect given
Many things can happen
That is the point of music.

Teen Suicide

"Love and pain become one in the same in the eyes of a wounded child.”
~Pat Benatar

Teen suicide is the third leading cause of deaths for the ages of between fifteen years and twenty-four year olds. The ages as early as ten and as late as fourteen, teen suicide is fourth in the leading cause of death. There are many causes, some of the most common are divorce of parents, violence in the home, inability to find success at school, and feelings of worthlessness. Also, rejection by friends or peers, death of someone close to the teenager, and the suicide of a friend or someone he or she "knows" online (Teen Suicide Overview).

I, myself, have once contemplated the idea of committing suicide, to just get away with the stresses of life, and the pain of being alive; thank The Lord I didn't. From personal experience, I wanted someone to talk to about what was going on. But one of main reasons I didn't want to, was thinking of what the person I was telling was going to think about me. I'm generally a bubbly, happy person. No death thoughts in mind in sight! Sadly, they did cross my path that dark and cold night. I thought they might think differently of me, lose the respect they had for me. Most importantly, they would feel like they wouldn't be able to trust me with their troubles. When I did talk to someone, I found the relief, knowing someone cared about me, knowing I have a good family to love me, I'm successful in school, and I know there is more to life than what I could see at the moment. What is even more great was my friend didn't judge me, just cared and wanted me to live and not do anything that wouldn't solve a thing.

When a teenager knows there is someone out there to talk to, who won't judge them, someone they can trust and will just listen and try to help them, they might double check the idea of committing suicide. If only there was a way it could be broad caste that special person out to the teen community, I believe it would make such a difference. Such a difference that a teenager would open up and think twice about giving up their life for a sad way of "solving" a problem...once...and forever...

Something About Him

There's just something about him
Maybe it's his eyes
His lips
His voice
I don't know, but I'm in a trance

Never did I know I could be this happy
With anyone
With you, I can do anything

When they say, "Can airplanes be like shooting stars
'Cause I could use a wish right now"
I wished for someone special
And you came true

Though I know our time together will end
I can look to the future
And know we'll be friends forever

Every tear that drops from my eyes
You wipe it away
You make me smile
You make me laugh

I smile at the things we've said
The things we've done
The things we'll do

You are something amazing
Thank you for letting me in

You're the One for Me

You're the one for me
The only one for me

You're perfect
Perfect only for me
No one else are you meant for

You're the one for me
The only one for me

We have looked high and low
For each other
I am the one for you

You're the one for me
The only one for me

Never to part
Is our destany
Yes it is

You're the one for me
The only one for me

What Would You Say

What would you say
If I told you I hated you

What would you say
If I said I despised you

What would you say
If I screamed I never wanted to see your face again

What would you say
If I thought you were the biggest jerk ever

What would you say
If I kicked you

What would you say
If I pounded my fists against your chest with anger

What would you say
If I slapped you

What would you say
If I said to never come back

What would you say
If I told you....

I loved you

Second Chance

Second chance
A life renewed

Another heartbeat
Stronger, stronger

Second chance
A life renewed

I've lied and fallen
I'm given a second chance

Second chance
A life renewed

I'm in a hospital, about to die
My life struggles onward

Second chance
A life renewed

I lay next to him
I feel another heartbeat

Second chance
A life renewed

I'm with my lover
My love grows stronger

Second chance
A life renewed

Stalker

Soft footsteps behind your back
Warm breath upon your neck

Looking around for someone
But no one is there

Hearing, I see you
While smog cloaks you

Stiff figures caressing your face
But no one is there
