Many people could learn from the Bible character, Ruth. Though her time period is much different than ours, if we think hard enough, one could learn a lot from her.
Ruth shows stubbornness, love, courage, and care after the loss her husband, Mahlon.
Over all, Ruth is a wonderful person whom God used to change other people’s lives. Through Ruth’s hardships, she never gave up, she kept on going. Never once did she stop everything and start yelling and screaming at God saying, “Why me? I hate what you have done to me! I will never forgive you for taking away the life I am accustom to! And taking my beloved husband from me!” She kept on going, knowing God would have a plan for her well being.
Ruth exempts stubbornness when she refuses to go back to her mother’s house and try to find another husband. She says to Naomi in Ruth 1: 16-17,
‘ “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.” ’
Ruth shows love to her mother-in-law when Naomi pushes her to go back into her mother’s house and try to get married to another man in her own tribe. Love is seen when Ruth stays by Naomi’s side and cares for her as if she were her own mother. Also when she starts loving Boaz, after just losing her husband.

Courage is with out a doubt seen by Ruth because of the many hardships she encountered. When there wasn’t any sign of her life turning out for the better, she had courage, knowing that God would provide for her needs.
Ruth overall is a caring person, she cared for her mother-in-law when she could have left Naomi to tend for herself. She cared for her dead husband, Mahlon, as she wept for him. She also cared for her new husband, Boaz. She cared for her first born son, Obed.
Ruth showed many characteristics I wish I were able to show the world. She demonstrated stubbornness, love, courage, and care. She was a Godly woman, she knew that God was with her even though her husband had died. She never gave up the fact that God was going to provide for her. She knew that HE was always going to be there for her.
